General Questions
MomAdvice makes counselling available and affordable for all mothers. Our mission is to provide mothers with convenient access to licensed counsellors who can help them overcome problems they might be facing with their children.

We created MomAdvice so more mothers could benefit from counselling and overcome day-to-day challenges they are facing with their children in a stigma-free environment.

With MomAdvice, you can send a Counsellor text messages in a private chat room. MomAdvice stands out because of the affordability, anonymity and convenience it provides.
Yes. We want to make sure you feel 100% comfortable and safe with your Counsellor. Privacy, security and anonymity are incredibly important to us.

You have the opportunity to create a unique username during the registration process. This is the only name your Counsellor will see. It's completely up to you whether or not you reveal your real name to anyone at any time.
Because our counsellors are real people who have multiple clients, families, lives, etc. (just like you and me), each Counsellor is a little different. Usually the counsellor will respond once or twice a day. Other users like to set up a specific time once each week with their Counsellor so that they can message each other in real time (sort of like a face-to-face session would be). The best thing to do is talk to your Counsellor about your schedule and your needs, and see what will work best for both of you.

About Our Counsellors
Absolutely! At MomAdvice we have an extensive network of licensed Counsellors. All MomAdvice Counsellors have been carefully vetted and trained to use MomAdvice. We do not use interns or Counsellors who are not fully licensed and still under supervision. All of our Counsellors have over 3,000 hours of clinical experience.

MomAdvice Counsellors have additional training in specific approaches to counselling which include Cognitive Behavioral counselling, Existential-Humanistic, Dialectical Behavioral counselling, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness and more.
Absolutely. Over the last decade numerous research studies have shown the effective potential of online therapeutic conversation.

Privacy Questions
At MomAdvice your privacy and safety are always our number one priority. We go to great lengths to ensure that you and your data are always kept safe and confidential.

All of your chat data is encrypted on the servers, and all communication between our software and the servers is encrypted. The MomAdvice app requires you to enter your password and allows you to create a unique passcode for extra security. If you have an iPhone that supports TouchID, we also have a feature that recognizes your fingerprint.

At MomAdvice, you have the ability to be as anonymous as you wish. You are only required to provide us a username, email and password to get started. You don't have to use your real name at any point.
We understand and appreciate your desire for removal of your personal information. We can always close your account so that it can no longer be logged into by anyone, but please be aware that the chat dialogues themselves cannot be deleted because the Counsellors are required by Law to keep records on file for a specific period of time. Our payment system is up to date with leading industry standards. All personal information is maintained and secured by an international payment processor. We never store any personal financial information ourselves.
Cost
MomAdvice is a subscription counselling service. All of our subscriptions are automatically charged each week or month depending on the plan you choose. There are no contracts whatsoever and you can cancel your plan anytime.

These are the current plans that are available for one-on-one private chat:
- $14.99/week of Unlimited Messaging counselling paid weekly
- $12.49/week of Unlimited Messaging counselling paid monthly (which means $49.99 charged automatically each month)
- $9.99/week of Unlimited Messaging counselling paid quarterly (which means $120.00 charged automatically each quarter)
We accept all major debit/credit cards and PayPal. We unfortunately cannot accept checks or bank transfers.
You are initially charged on the first day you join MomAdvice. Your plan will renew exactly one week, month or quarter (every 12 weeks) from your first day or your last renewal.
All plans renew automatically unless you decide to cancel via your "My Account" settings beforehand. This is stated when you selected a plan, before you were matched with a Counsellor.
There are no contracts or long-term commitments, but we believe that change happens over time and the best results come about during a long-term relationship with a Counsellor. Our plans are set to automatically renew each week, month or quarter depending on the plan you choose and can be canceled at any time through your account settings.
MomAdvice is committed to offering everyone the best possible experience with our platform and counsellors. If you're ever not satisfied, you can request a new counsellor through your account settings.

MomAdvice acts as a conduit to arrange professional services, and those services are paid to the counsellors through their Counsellor Agreement with MomAdvice. Generally refunds for unused time are not granted because the counsellors charge for time that is scheduled to be used, much like other medical professionals. However, customer service reviews refunds on a case-by-case basis in conjunction with the counsellors. We make accommodations if unique or legal circumstances (medical, death, disability, court orders, etc.) dictate the reason for the refund request. If a refund is not granted, usually we are able to make accommodations some other way such as a credit for future service.

Signup, Consultation & Cancellation
To keep prices affordable, we are not able to offer a free trial. We do, however, offer a free initial consultation where you can chat with a Matching Agent who will give you a good idea of how MomAdvice works.
During your initial consultation, the Matching Agent will chat with you long enough to understand the reasons why you came here, give you a good idea of what MomAdvice can do for you and help match you with a Counsellor.
Simply go to our homepage or download our mobile app. You will then enter your email address, create a password and unique username to login. After that, you'll be taken to your private room where you will begin.

You will first be greeted by one of our agents or Counsellors who will chat with you and give you a good idea of what MomAdvice can do for you. They will discuss our various plans and help match you with a MomAdvice Counsellor who can help you.
A key part to providing you with effective counselling is our matching process. We are careful to find the best match, since the experience is different than simply picking someone out of a directory. We know the mother-counsellor relationship is very important, so this matching process is a service we are proud to provide at MomAdvice.

During your initial consultation, you will be asked a few simple questions so the agent can gather some information about you and Ñ based on their training and experience - use that information to match you with a Counsellor who they think is best able to help you.
Absolutely! Your Counsellor will personally work with you throughout all the days and weeks you are at MomAdvice.
If you no longer want to continue, you can easily cancel at any time through your account settings. Once you cancel, your account will be marked to not renew. If you cancel before your plan expires, you will still have the remaining time you've already paid for.
Absolutely! Your room is still available to you even after you've canceled. You can always log in to MomAdvice to view past chats or check out our latest offers.
Just log in to MomAdvice using your original username & password. All you have to do is reach out to your Counsellor and subscribe to a plan. Then you will be all set to continue right where you left off with your original Counsellor.
Technical Questions
Absolutely! You can use the MomAdvice app with our iOS app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod. Take your counselling to-go so you have access to your counsellor whenever and wherever you need help.swer
Of course! MomAdvice is available to Android users via the Google Play App Store. With the MomAdvice app, it's like having a Counsellor in your pocket!
This issue is usually caused by a poor internet connection. Please try the following steps to resolve:
1. Check the Internet connection strength
2. Log out of the MomAdvice app completely
3. Log back into the app
